Lee
is an experienced psychologist who has practised in Quebec for more
than thirty years. During her career, Lee has practised psychotherapy
with adults, elementary and high school students, CEGEP students, and
hearing-impaired people from elementary school age to adulthood. She
has been conducting psychoeducational assessments since 1974 and has
worked with all kinds of children, including those with hearing impairment,
learning disabilities, developmental delay, attention deficit disorder,
autism, Asperger's Disorder, and more serious disorders. She has assessed
more than 100 children for Kindergarten derogations (waivers for early
entry to Kindergarten).
Lee has a bachelor's
degree in psychology from McGill and a master's degree from the University
of Waterloo. She became a member of the Ordre des Psychologues in 1970.
Lee worked for 17
years at the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf, and at the Mackay Centre.
She has a private practice in Gatineau, Quebec, and can be reached at:
(613) 761-2721.
Lee also conducts
usability studies of software and websites. In some cases, this consists
of a thorough examination of the software or website, while in other
cases, observations are done of actual users attempting tasks using
the site or software.
In psychotherapy,
Lee takes a cognitive-behavioural approach, meaning that she is more
likely to ask you to focus on your present feelings, thoughts and behaviours
than on your past. Lee also practises play therapy with children. Play
therapy works in an indirect, symbolic way on children's thoughts and
feelings.
Lee assesses children
who are having problems at school and advises both school and parents
on effective ways of helping children to learn.
Lee is married and
lives in Ottawa.
