Grohol's site. Many resources, including on-line groups. Part
of Dr. John Grohol's website deals with choices in treatment for depression,
with informed commentary on psychotherapy, medications, and the combination
of both.
- Useful
links from the site of the Psychotherapy Resource Center.
- An article
by Martin Seligman, well-known for his research into the causes of
depression. He comments on the study by Consumer Reports magazine
of the effectiveness of psychotherapy. Written for psychologists,
but worth a look for anyone considering psychotherapy.
- www.aboutpsychotherapy.com
is a very understandable site about psychotherapy, what it is and
what it can do.
Vocational
Choice and Preparation
- The
Self-Directed Search is the only online psychological test I can
recommend. It looks at vocational interests. Costs about $12 Canadian.
- The
Career Development Manual of the University of Waterloo is a helpful
way to reflect on your wishes and interests in preparing yourself
for a choice of career.
- CareerStorm
is another helpful site for exploration and reflection.
- Labour
market information for all of Canada. A really amazing source
of information.
- Job
Futures gives the job outlook for the future, by occupation and
by field of study.
- Work
Destinations tells you the cost of living in cities in Canada,
local labour market information, data about regulated professions
and a lot of other great stuff.

Archives! You can subscribe to a daily Dilbert mailing.

for those days when you, as a woman, need to vent some anger. Look
at the Popular Culture pages for women-positive books, music, and
movies.
